Make a Difference

Disabilities of all kinds can present more than just physical issues. Social isolation, discrimination, stigmatisation, self-esteem issues, identity issues, and social difficulties are just some of the mental struggles that people with disabilities have to deal with day to day.

Both mental and physical disabilities present complex factors that contribute to a sedentary lifestyle, which can lead to poor mental and physical health, and worsen the physical symptoms of many disabilities.

Our cycle centre, its surrounding garden area, and our cycle track were established with the sole aim of providing a safe, relaxed and controllable space for people of all abilities and disabilities to experience a sense of freedom and independence, and to give them the means and opportunity to discover the enormous benefits that fresh air and exercise can provide.

Our Watermill is used by young adults with complex additional support needs who, along with their carers, are given their own private rooms with kitchen and bathroom facilities, which they use on a weekly basis. The aim of this initiative is to help them learn the skills required for them to transition from school life to adult life, and to help them prepare for and adjust to the challenges that this change can present.

Our cycle track, our fleet of cycles, and our Watermill require a lot of upkeep and maintenance, and as a non-profit organisation, we rely solely on funding and donations to keep us going.

"What I do you cannot do; but what you do, I cannot do. The needs are great, and none of us, including me, ever do great things. But we can all do small things, with great love, and together we can do something wonderful."

- Mother Teresa -

To help us bring cycling to everyone – regardless of ability, we rely heavily on warm, kind-hearted and generous donations.

We have received a number of donations over the years. The following have requested that their donations be publicised. If you have donated to us in the past, or are a recurring donor and would like to be represented here, don't hesitate to get in touch.
